Seeds of Promise hosts a variety of community events across all seasons in Grand Rapids, Michigan, designed to engage residents, strengthen neighborhoods, and promote community development. From educational workshops and neighborhood cleanups to celebrations and fundraising events, our calendar is full of opportunities for residents and partners to connect, collaborate, and make a positive impact.

Whether you are looking to participate, volunteer, or contribute, there are numerous ways to get involved. Each event is carefully designed to support our resident-driven initiatives, foster relationships among community members, and highlight the achievements of local residents and organizations.

It’s been both a challenging and celebratory year for our communities. The resident leadership team at Seeds of Promise would like to invite you to an event to celebrate what we’ve accomplished this past year, TOGETHER! Now, let’s take a look at to what to expect in 2024!

Please join us for a very engaging evening to learn what to expect in 2024 and beyond. We want to celebrate those who have helped us to close information gaps, strengthen relationships amongst humans, and believe in our bottom-up mission.

Dumpster Day

Seeds of Promise hosts an annual city-funded program for residents to dispose of household clutter. In order to participate in the Seeds of Promise Dumpster Day event, you must be a resident of the Southtown-Madison Square neighborhood. Dumpster Day occurs in the fall. Follow our Facebook Page for updates on when and where the next Dumpster Day will be held. To volunteer for the event, please sign up through our volunteer form.

National Night Out

National Night Out is a free event hosted by Seeds of Promise to celebrate community and safety in the neighborhood. This event has multiple sponsors and partners, and there are food and games offered to all participants. This is an opportunity to meet neighbors and network within the community! Community Green Up

Seeds of Promise partners with Friends of Grand Rapids for a spring tree planting event and neighborhood cleanup. We plant trees, spread mulch and pick up trash and recycling in the Southtown-Madison Square Neighborhood. Tools, materials, and lunch are provided.
